George I. Starks, age 82, of Decatur, passed away on Sunday morning, July 10, 2022, in South Haven, MI.

George was born on October 1, 1939, in Kalamazoo, MI. George grew up in Paw Paw and attended Paw Paw Schools. Growing up on a dairy farm, George worked as a farmer most of his life. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed hunting with his muzzle loader.
George is survived by his long-time life partner, Kathryn (Krumrei) Kirby; his children, Theresa Starks, Sandy Starks, Jacqueline Starks, George Starks Jr., Edward Starks and Joseph Starks; Kathryn’s children, Kenneth (Jody) Kirby, Firehawk Warner, Tony Kirby, Jeffrey (Sally Durtz), Andrea (Nathan) McKellar, and Andrew (Jessica) Kirby; numerous, grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother, William (Sally) Starks.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Vedah (Johnson) Kirby; daughter: Georgia Starks; and Kathryn’s daughter: Shirley Winton.
