(Hubert) Glen Archer, 74, of Niles, went to heaven on March 26, 2022. Glen was born June 21, 1947 to Orville and Tula (Blackard) Archer in Buchanan, Michigan.
Glen was a loving, son, father, brother, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, and cousin. He leaves behind one daughter, Dawn (David) Gates of Mammoth Springs, Arkansas; three sons, Tyree Archer, Timothy (Amy) Archer, and Terry (Sheri) Archer, all of Niles; 11 grandchildren, Ronald C. Lenex, Sr, Joseph Lenex, William Siderits, Christopher Archer, Bobby Davis, Zackary Archer, Jacob Archer, Emily Archer, Jesse Archer, Callie Alford, and Lexi Pollock; brothers, Robert (Linda) Archer, Carlos (Carol) Archer; sisters, Edna (and the late Howard) Exum, and Norma (Larry) Clayton. He had 7 great grandsons, and 6 great granddaughters. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and friends that will miss him dearly. He would beam with pride when talking about his kids and grandkids.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Orville and Tula Archer; his wife of 55 years, Joan (Frasher) Archer; brothers, Nolan, Jerry Archer, and Bob Northrop; and sister, Doris Wimberly.
Glen was a laborer for 40+ years and even came out of retirement to work with his boys. His final retirement was Reith and Riley. Glen loved to buy and sell, the family often joked that he could sell ice to an Eskimo.
As much as Glen cherished family, loved spending time with them, talking frequently on the phone to the ones that lived farther away, being outside and tinkering with anything that had a motor, his love for Joan was more than his heart could handle.
There will be an informal celebration of life held by the family for both Glen and Joan at the Niles Elks (1322 Canal St) on Tuesday, March 29 from 4-8 pm. Donations can be made in their name to St. Jude Children’s Hospital. Arrangements have been entrusted to Hoven Funeral Home, Buchanan. Online condolences may be made at www.hovenfunerals.com
