A weekend house fire near South Haven remains under investigation. South Haven Area Emergency Services responded to 236 72nd Street in Casco Township just before ten p.m. Saturday. They arrived to find heavy fire and smoke in the home’s attic. It was quickly contained, but the home did suffer smoke and water damage. The residents of the house were there at the time, but managed to get out safely. They told firefighters they became aware of the situation when they noticed fire coming from the ceiling lights in the kitchen.
