Mildred Delores Hart, 94, of St. Joseph, passed away on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, at Woodland Terrace of Bridgman.

Mildred, lovingly known by her family as “Tody” or “Mil”, was born on August 6, 1931, to the late Clell and Mamie (Hanson) Gillette in St. Joseph. She proudly attended the Tryon School House and later graduated from St. Joseph High School.
Mildred had a true servant’s heart. She was deeply engaged in her community, serving as a passionate advocate and organizer. Whether attending township meetings, participating in county and state level events, supporting veterans, organizing neighborhood efforts, caring for animals, or being a devoted caregiver to family, Mildred consistently stepped in wherever she saw a need and quietly made sure every need was met.
She is survived by her son, Jack (Cindy Garlesky) Hart; nieces, who were like daughters to her, Pam (Dallas) Kuball and Sharon (Delfin) Alvarez; nephews, James (Kathleen) Lucker and Bill Lucker and brothers, James Gillette and Elwood Gillette. She was preceded in death by her first husband, William Lucker; second husband, Jack Hart and brothers, Myron, Elwyn and Victor Gillette.
