Some residents of Benton Harbor have been reporting a delay with their latest water bills.
The city announced on Monday that it’s aware of the issue, caused by problems with its third-party mailer and the U.S. Postal Service. It’s telling affected residents to call the city Water Payment Center at 927-8400 and selected Option 1 for their account details so they can find out how much they owe.
The city says not receiving the bill does not eliminate past due penalties or mean the customer doesn’t still have to pay. Payments can also be made at the city of Benton Harbor’s website, BHCity.us.
Meanwhile, the city says it’s investigating the issue and will share updates as it learns more.
