The Twin Cities Area Transportation Authority is now under new management.
Via Transportation officially took over operations of the organization that oversees Benton Harbor’s Dial a Ride service on Tuesday.
Speaking to the TCATA Board of Trustees last week, Chair Alex Little presented some resolutions to make the transition official. That included agreements granting Via permission to use the TCATA name and logo, among other things. He said the board also needed to pass a resolution complying with Federal Transit Administration directives and communicating about the new management.
“TCATA is in the midst of a transition whereby operations will as, of March 17, be carried out and conducted under contract by Via,” Little said.
TCATA’s Tressa Greschak has been appointed as the interim director of the organization. She was previously the deputy director. Little said the new title comes with the same salary.
“What we indicated here is that we want to observe through this transition how it goes and what all we have to deal with.”
TCATA has been rebranded as “TCATA by Via,” and more information can be found at a newly designed website, TCATA.info.
Greschak’s appointment as interim director is one of the steps TCATA had to take in order to comply with FTA instructions after the administration froze TCATA funding last month.
