Indiana Michigan Power is planning some online informational sessions to help customers better understand their bills.
I&M spokesperson Demetrious Lewis tells us the “Understanding Your Bill” virtual learning sessions will walk customers through components of their bill and explain common charges, help customers troubleshoot high bills, and highlight programs that can help households manage their energy costs.
So, what kinds of things do customers typically ask about?
“We’re going to go over things like supply charges, the cost to generate the electricity that customers use,” Lewis said. “They often have questions on the delivery charges, those costs that are associated with safely transmitting and distributing electricity to homes and businesses. They often have questions about energy usage.”
Lewis says the sessions will be held over Microsoft Teams and be led by the I&M customer service and regulatory staff.
There will be two sessions for I&M customers in Indiana and two for I&M customers in Michigan. The Michigan sessions will be March 20 from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. and March 24 from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. You can sign up for the sessions right here.
