Fire crews responded to a house fire Wednesday afternoon in the 900 block of Ogden Avenue in Benton Harbor.
Benton Harbor Department of Public Safety and automatic aid departments were dispatched by Berrien County 911 at approximately 2:40 p.m. Upon arrival, crews reported fire visible from the attic of the home. Officials say firefighters initiated an interior attack and conducted a search of the residence.
Authorities say no injuries were reported. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
BHDPS received assistance at the scene from the Benton Charter Township Fire Department, St. Joseph Department of Public Safety, Lincoln Charter Township firefighters, and Medic 1 Ambulance.
The American Red Cross is assisting the displaced residents — two adults and three children — with temporary housing and other immediate needs.
