Planning is underway for the 2026 South Haven Art Fair.
South Haven Center for the Arts Director Kerry Hagy addressed the city council this week as she sought approval of the event application. She said the 67th annual event will take place July 4 and 5 at Stanley Johnston Park with around 125 artists on hand.
Hagy said the art fair is a tradition in the community.
“South Haven Art Fair, it’s important to the whole mission of the South Haven Center for the Arts,” Hagy said. “It’s an income generator for us and a part of our mission. And we also offer free programming for families the whole time.”
Hagy said it’s a juried art fair, meaning a panel determines who is invited to display their work.
“The artists submit from all over the country, actually. We usually have about a third are Michigan artists, and then they come from all over the country. They submit four images of their work and also an image of their booth, and they’re selected in different categories. We have 13 different categories from photography, painting, printmaking.”
This is the first time the South Haven Art Fair will be held on the Fourth of July, so Hagy says she’s working with the city to ensure everything goes smoothly. The event will feature activities for the whole family, including a Casco Band concert on Sunday afternoon.
The city council approved art center’s event application and said it looks forward to the festivities.
