Thomas was born on July 16, 1958 in South Bend, Indiana to the late John Joseph Mossell and Norma Constance (Cole) Herrmann.
Along with his parents, Thomas was preceded in death by his son, Tommy Mossell; four brothers, John Mossell, Charles Mossell, Richard Mossell, and Michael Mossell, and sister, Connie Balint.

Thomas was a man who truly knew how to enjoy life and appreciate the simple moments. One of his greatest joys was cooking—he loved spending time in the kitchen, experimenting with new recipes, and sharing meals made with care and pride.
Above all else, Thomas was a devoted family man. His family was the center of his world, and his love for them was evident in everything he did. He valued time together, laughter, and the everyday moments that make life meaningful. Thomas lived life to the fullest, facing each day with strength and determination. He fought bravely until the very end, never giving up and never losing his love for those around him. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered for his strong spirit, kind heart, and the lasting love he leaves behind.
