Everyone’s being reminded not to go out on shelf ice in Lake Michigan after someone suffered a leg injury while walking on the shelf ice in South Haven on Sunday.
South Haven Area Emergency Services says it responded to South Beach  around 3:05 p.m. on a report of a subject who fell about 100 yards from shore.
The individual suffered a leg injury and needed to be taken to shore in a gurney. They were then taken by ambulance to a Kalamazoo hospital.
SHAES says this is the second incident of its kind in the area this winter. It again appealed to everyone to stay off the Lake Michigan ice shelves and pier heads.
