The South Haven Area Community Foundation has announced the creation of new endowments to support four organizations that contribute to the community’s cultural life.
The foundation says the new endowments will help SHOUT for South Haven, the South Haven Performance Series, the South Haven Speakers Series, and the South Haven Theatre Series all continue serving the public into the future and at prices reasonable for all residents.
The endowments were announced Monday by foundation Director Jim Marcoux and were inspired by Robert “Bob” Copping, the founder of SHOUT for South Haven and the three series. Copping was recently honored with the 2025 Governor George Romney Lifetime Achievement Award for his community advocacy. One of the funds, the Jane Goldwood Copping Endowment for the South Haven Performance Series, honors his wife and her love of classical music.
Founded in 2011, the South Haven Area Community Foundation manages more than $7.1 million in assets and distributed more than $142,000 to 25 non-profits in 2025.
