The Berrien Community Foundation is kicking off the new year helping people learn about the grants available and how to write effective grant applications.

The BCF says it’s holding several events around the county to show interested organizations. The Grant Info Tour will be held in communities including New Buffalo, Berrien Springs, Coloma, Benton Harbor, and Niles late this month and into February. BCF Program Director Susan Matheny will lead the sessions, which require no registration.

In addition, the BCF will offer two free grant writing workshops in February, led by Matheny and President Lisa Cripps-Downey.

Matheny says the sessions are all about accessibility and connection, adding the Berrien Community Foundation wants organizations to feel confident and supported as they explore funding opportunities.

Registration for the grant writing workshops is required, with details available on the foundation’s website.
