Michigan Works Berrien, Cass, and Van Buren is planning its first job fair of 2026 for February 10 in Benton Harbor.

Michigan Works Business Solutions Manager Michael Mompremier tells us they’ll have around 25 employers on hand, all looking to hire. He says Michigan Works jobs fairs last year produced results, connecting job seekers and businesses in search of help.

We have about 20 to 25 employers slash resource providers on hand,” Mompremier said. “And normally, in terms of the job seekers, about 250 is what our average tends to be and has been since about May of 2024. So we have a pretty steady flow of individuals that come through.”

Mompremier says the employers to be present on February 10 will include manufacturers and healthcare providers. In addition to hosting employers, the fair will also feature resource providers to help job seekers with education, training, and support services. And Michigan Works can help a job seeker prepare themselves for the fair.

Come to our Service Center prior to the event. We have numerous resources on hand, whether it be an individual who might need some maybe professional clothing for the day of.”

Mompremier says Michigan Works can help job seekers learn how to present themselves as confident in interviews, one of the most important things to be.

The job fair will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Michigan Works Service Center on West Main Street in Benton Harbor on Tuesday, February 10. Those who plan to attend are advised to register in advance. They’re also updating the list of participating employers online.
