Berrien Springs-Oronoko Township Police Chief Paul Toliver is retiring after about ten years on the job.
Toliver submitted a letter to the Oronoko Township Board last month, saying it’s been a professional and a personal privilege to serve the community and the department. He plans to teach at the Lake Michigan College Police Academy and spend more time with family in retirement.
Toliver came to the Berrien Springs-Oronoko Township Police Department after serving at the Berrien County Sheriff’s Department for more than 25 years. He’s also been a member of the Berrien Springs Public Schools Board of Education.
Toliver says he’s confident the men and women of the police department will continue to successfully serve the community.
Toliver’s last day will be March 31. The Oronoko Township Board is aiming to find a successor by that date.
