Michigan State Police troopers made a special delivery this week.
Troopers from the Wakefield Post, near the Wisconsin border in the UP, started the trip at 4 a.m. Monday to transport presents to a 2-year-old receiving cancer treatment at Mott Children’s Hospital in Ann Arbor.
MSP First Lieutenant Mike Shaw says stories like this rally Michiganders together.
“We’re all part of the community, right? And there was somebody that just came across and said that they wanted to just talk to the troopers up there and they were feeling bad about how the holidays were going to be a little rougher for them,” Shaw said. “So we couldn’t just let that go by and not do something about it.”
The troopers from Wakefield learned of little Vialah White from her grandmother, who spoke to them during a Shop with a Cop event.
The special delivery made it to Mott a little after 3 p.m. Monday.
