Thomas D. “Tom” Froehlich, 64, of St. Joseph, passed away on December 15, 2025. A Celebration Time of Gathering will be held on Monday, December 22 from 5PM until 7PM at Starks & Menchinger Chapel and Cremations Services, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Tom was born on February 22, 1961, in Benton Harbor to Joseph Hopper & Elina “Marie” Ziebarth. He was raised by Marie & August Froehlich. Tom graduated from St. Joseph High School in 1980. On May 31, 1980, Tom married the love of his life, Tina Crittenden. Professionally, Tom worked as a pickup and delivery driver; most recently for ABF Freight, however before that he was employed with YRC for over 30 years.
Taking great pride in his yard, Tom loved being outside working on his home’s landscaping. He also enjoyed woodworking, cheering on the Chicago Bears & Cubs, making his family waffles (especially on Christmas morning) and using his secret family recipe to make the most delicious barbeque sauce to share with his family and friends. Tom was an incredible man who will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved him.
Tom is survived by his mom, Marie Froehlich; loving wife of 45 years, Tina Froehlich of St. Joseph; sons, Cody (Jaclyn) Froehlich of Grand Rapids and Trenton Froehlich of St. Joseph; grandson, Matthew Connor; brother, Rick (Elyse) Froehlich of FL and David (Diane) Froehlich of CO; niece, Kimmy (Jerry) Capaccio of St. Joseph; along with many more nieces and nephews and seven fur babies that he adored. He was preceded in death by his father, August Froehlich and biological father, Joseph Hopper.
