St. Joseph City Commissioners have said goodbye to their colleague, Michelle Binkley.
Binkley took part in her final meeting as a commissioner Monday after deciding not to seek reelection next month. Binkley got applause Monday, and later said it’s been a privilege to serve.
“It has been such a pleasure to work with the rest of the commissioners up here,” Binkley said. “They are really, I have respect for all of them. They all do a lot of homework for everything that we talk about up here.”
Binkley also thanked city staff.
“I’ve worked with a stellar staff, the whole staff in St. Joe, city of St. Joe is amazing. You couldn’t hope for a better place to be a commissioner. I’m really going to miss it.”
Binkley said even when commissioners have different opinions about a given issue, she appreciates the discussion.
Mayor Brook Thomas told Binkley, “You will be missed.”
