Cindy Irene Goretzka, 71, of Kalamazoo, passed away Tuesday September 2, 2025, at her home in Kalamazoo.
She was born February 20, 1954, in Paw Paw, Michigan, the daughter of Wilbur Treat and Maxine (Hall) Treat.
Cindy’s greatest joy was spending time with her children, grandchildren, family and friends. She could talk to anyone for hours about pretty much anything and loved to tell stories of her long-time career as a server and bartender as well as her time spent driving and delivering RVs across the country. She wouldn’t miss a chance to brag about her loved ones to anyone that would listen, and she had great pride in her children and grandchildren. In her later years she found a love for feeding the birds and other critters outside of her home and got especially excited when they would come take the food right out of her hands. Her loving and gentle soul will be deeply missed but forever remembered.
She is survived by her sons, Miles (Shae) Goretzka and Matt (Betsy Black) Goretzka; daughter, Marcy (Jake) McCauley; grandchildren, Drew Goretzka, Alyssa Goretzka, R.J. Nichols, Sophia McKinnon and Lucy McKinnon; stepson, Ray Nichols and sister, Paulette (late Dean) Maxam.
Cindy was preceded in death by her parents Wilbur and Maxine Treat.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, September 12, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Applegate Community Center, 6283 Belgian Avenue, Kalamazoo.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Adams Funeral Home, Paw Paw.
