The Greater Hartford Area Chamber of Commerce and the Hartford Public Library are teaming up for a new event this month to celebrate the return of fall.

Chamber Treasurer Patty Schroeder tells us the first Hartford Fall Festival will be September 27 and 28 at the library. The event will feature a variety of family friendly activities.

We’re going to have some craft and merchandise vendors here,” Schroeder said. “We’ll have some food vendors, a book sale. The library will be selling fresh apples and apple cider, and it somebody’s going to have some pies as well to sell.”

The Hartford Fire Department will be there showing off equipment and vehicles, the Van Buren County Sheriff’s Department will offer fingerprinting for kids, and there will be a bounce house and games for the whole family.

Schroeder says they hope to bring the community together for a new fall tradition.

If it’s successful this year, we’ll definitely continue it into the years to come.”

The event will raise funds for the Hartford Strawberry Festival via its vendor fees, but it’s free for the community to attend. Schroeder says it’ll all be on the library grounds on Saturday, the 27th from 10 to 5, and Sunday, the 28th from 10 to 4.
