
Ricky Scarbrough, 62 of Eau Claire, passed away, Wednesday, August 20, 2025 at Corewell Health Lakeland Hospital in Grand Rapids.
A Celebration of Life Service was held at 1:00 P.M. Monday, August 25, 2025 at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph, with Rev. Scott Saylor & Rev. Richard Kiser officiating. Burial followed at Millburg Cemetery in Benton Harbor. Friends visited with the family beginning at 11:30 A.M. Monday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations in Ricky’s name may be made to New Day Church in Watervliet or St. Jude Children’s Hospital. Ricky was born June 14, 1963 in Hayti, Missouri to Roy & Linda Scarbrough. After moving to Benton Harbor, he graduated from Benton Harbor High School, Class of 1981. Growing up, he helped his parents at the family business-Millburg Red & White Feed Store in Millburg which they operated for forty-four years. Ricky also devoted his life to public safety as a firefighter, five years with the City of Benton Harbor and twenty-five years with Benton Township Fire Department, from where he retired. After retirement, he and his mother operated their family cattle farms in Eau Claire.
Ricky was a member of New Day Church in Watervliet where he played the guitar for Sunday Services, & the Berrien County Riders, participating in many rides on his cherished Harley. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Ricky is survived by his mother Linda Scarbrough; aunts & uncles-Jim (Nancy) Tipton, Bonnie Blakeman, Johnie Tipton, Diane McDonald, Rita (John Allen) Leachman; and numerous cousins & extended family members including his special cousin Bradley Blakemen. Ricky was preceded in death by his father Roy on July 9, 2016 and his uncle Skip Tipton.
