Coming up this month in South Haven will be two major craft fairs.

South Haven Area Chamber of Commerce Assistant Director Olivia Thompson tells us the 40th Annual Blueberry Festival Craft Fair will be on August 9 and 10 at Stanley Johnston Park. There will be plenty to see.

We are going to have 175 booths with craft vendors all the way from artisans making homemade baked goods to hand crocheted stuffed animals, handmade clothing,” Thompson said. “We have handmade jewelry, garden decor, everything you can kind of imagine, we’ve got it.”

The fair will run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the 9th and 10 to 4 on the 10th. Of course, it’s going on at the same time as the National Blueberry Festival.

This takes place alongside the National Blueberry Festival. That is all on South Side down by the South Marina with the live music and the carnival rides and those things. And we are on North Side in Stanley Johnston Park.”

Thompson says they’ll have crafters from all over the country on hand, and everything they sell will be made by hand. Organizers verify that.

After the excitement of the Blueberry Festival Craft Fair, the annual All Crafts Fair returns for Labor Day weekend, with more than 150 artists and makers. That event will take place on Saturday, August 30 and Sunday, August 31, also at Stanley Johnston Park.

Thompson says for both fairs, the chamber is offering a shuttle to the park that will run from North Shore Elementary. All are welcome.
