The city of South Haven says applications for short-term rental licenses under its new short-term rental program will soon be available. The city starts accepting them Friday.
The city says STR owners familiar with the previous licensing process should find it hasn’t changed all that much. However, property owners will need to apply for and receive a zoning compliance determination before submitting a rental license application.
The South Haven City Council spend a good portion of the past year refining the STR rules to help ensure vacation rental homes don’t overrun the community and drive out year-round residents.
Any property owners seeking to set up an STR can contact city hall to have their questions answered.
