Improvements to Hall Park in Benton Harbor have been slightly delayed thanks to ATV-riding vandals who tore up the space for new basketball courts last week.
Speaking to the Economic Development and Parks and Recreation Committee, City Manager Alex Little said damage like that done on July 21 isn’t uncommon, causing problems for improvement projects at parks citywide.
The vandals who hit Hall Park did damage to the staking that had been placed there for the new courts, delaying the pouring of concrete.
Little said similar incidents have affected projects at multiple other parks. He asked residents to watch out for such vandalism and to report it when they see it.
