William A. Welch “Bill”, 66, of Saint Joseph, passed away peacefully into the arms of Jesus on Monday, July 14, 2025 at Royalton Manor, Saint Joseph, MI. He was born November 18, 1958 in Saint Joseph, MI to Eugene and Christine (Mildon) Welch.
Bill graduated from Lakeshore High School and later from Ferris State College. He worked several sales jobs early in his career until he settled at Express-1 trucking with his brothers where he was known for adding a little spice and fun to the working environment.
Bill spent most of his life in Southwestern Michigan and loved being by the lake. He was always a happy-go-lucky type of person who had many friends and would do anything for anyone at any time. As a young man, he loved everything in the water: swimming, scuba diving, boating, skiing and tubing. Later in life he loved to spend time talking with friends who walked by as he sat outside his home with his faithful dog Inky at his side. Bill also loved talking about his beloved nieces and nephews to anyone who would listen.
Bill was dealt a tough hand with several health issues during his life, but he never complained as he persevered through some difficult times. He was a fighter who was admired by all who knew him for never letting these issues get him down.
Bill will be dearly missed by his siblings, James (Cindy) Welch, and John (Joy) Welch; his nieces and nephews, Ken Welch, Andy Welch, Joe Welch, Alex Welch, Christina Welch, Michael Welch, Kara Welch, and Carter Welch; his cherished dog, Inky; and many other extended family members and special friends.
He is preceded in death by his brother, Michael (Lisa) Welch; and his parents.
A celebration of life get together will be held for Bill at a later date. Memorial contributions may be given to the Berrien County Cancer Service, www.bccancerservice.org/ways-to-give.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Starks & Menchinger Chapel, St. Joseph.
