Michael “Mike” David Wade, age 76, of St. Joseph passed away surrounded by his loving family on July 6, 2025.
Mike was born on September 26, 1948, in Benton Harbor to Adrian and Emily (Muirhead) Wade.
Mike was a 1966 graduate of Benton Harbor High School. He served his country in the U.S. Marines during the Vietnam War.
Mike was a Past Ruler of the St. Joseph Elks and was a member of BPOE, Benton Harbor. Mike enjoyed bowling with a league on Mondays and loved walking Jean Klock Beach and collecting beach glass.
Mike is survived by his daughter, Marcy Wade of St. Joseph and his son, Robert “Rob” (Cherie) Wade and grandchildren, Jake and Kyle Wade, Emily Wade-Sullivan, and Ava and Quinn Reed. Brother-in-law, Edward Hutson, nephew, John (Mary) Hutson and their daughters, Annabelle and Summerlin and his cousin, Doug Bartalone of Arizona.
Step-children Dawn (Pete) Riethmeier of St. Joseph and their children, Emma and Ethan; Dustin (Stacey) Wilder, and their children, Ava and Adelyn of Las Vegas, Nevada.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Sandra Hutson, and two brothers Louis and John.
Per Mike’s wishes, cremation will take place. There will be no service, but a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
In gratitude, the family would like to thank a very special hospice nurse, Erin Russell, who went above and beyond while caring for our dad.
We would also like to recognize some special friends in Mike’s life. John Csepregi and Bobby Brandt who have been with him through high school, life and the past six months while in the hospital and Caretel. Also, to his very special neighbors, Mason, Meghan, Gammy, Gus and Lincoln; and Cathy Taber and Dennis Carlson. Dad LOVED you all.
