Congresswoman Debbie Dingell is speaking out against President Trump’s “One Big Beautiful Bill.”

Speaking prior to the bill’s passage Thursday, Dingell called it “One Big Bad Bill.” She said it would raise energy costs for families and put nearly 700,000 projected job openings in the clean energy field at risk.

This bill will bring our momentum as a global leader in technology and clean energy innovation to a grinding halt,” Dingell said. “And I just want to say something. A hundred years ago, Germany led the world in innovation and technology. We do right now, but we are giving it up.”

Meanwhile, Republican Congressman Tom Barrett lauded the bill for its quote “historic tax cuts” for working class families and small businesses. He also said it would Michigan-made cars more affordable.
