Ruby L. Cartwright, 94, of South Bend, formerly of Eau Claire, MI,passed away Wednesday, June 25, 2025 at Wellbrook Nursing Facility in South Bend, with her loving nieces Vicky & Lisa at her side.

Ruby was born February 5, 1931 in Roosevelt, Arkansas to John & Ida Morris. After moving to Michigan, she married James W. Cartwright in Benton Harbor. Ruby was employed for more than thirty years at Southwest Michigan Cold Storage, now Hanson Cold Storage. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Benton Harbor, before moving to South Bend, and the Business & Professional Women’s Association. In her free time, Ruby enjoyed reading, needlepoint, crocheting, and researching her families genealogy.
Ruby is survived by her sister Norma Jean Robinson of South Bend; nieces & nephews-Vicky (Dale Miller) St. John, Lisa (Greg) Wallace, Kathy Truelove, Sam (Desiree) Cook, Rick (LeaAnne) Huff, Dave Huff; and numerous great-nieces & nephews. Ruby was preceded in death by her husband James on September 11, 2003, and two sisters-Gladys Smith & Lois Cook.
