Former Michigan governors and other politicians gathered together in Grand Rapids this week for the unveiling of a poll on voter confidence in elections.
The survey was conducted among 800 registered voters in the state earlier this month. Former Governor Jim Blanchard talked about what it found.
“The people of this state overwhelmingly support our election system,” Blanchard said. “They believe it’s to be fair and accurate, and that’s really the significant thing. I think what’s interesting in the polling data is that somewhat more people believe the next election will be even more accurate and well run than the last election.”
The poll revealed 77% of all voters felt the election was fair and accurate and 18% did not.
