It may seem surprising, but a lot of people have gastro-intestinal problems.
Two thirds of Americans have gastrointestinal issues like bloating, food sensitivity, diarrhea, and constipation. The senior director of care management for Priority Health, Margaret Brown, told us why.
“A lot of it has to do with really what types of foods we’re eating as Americans,” Brown said. “Like if we’re experiencing more stress and we’re not as aware of the types of food that we’re putting in our body, if it’s more processed foods versus more like natural foods. If we’re not having a diet that’s high in like fiber for like vegetables, fruits, beans, legumes.”
Brown also says drinking plenty of water and exercising will help. If not, consult with your doctor.
