Michigan Works Berrien, Cass, Van Buren has secured $2.26 million in grants from the state of Michigan’s Going PRO Talent Fund to help 40 Southwest Michigan employers train their workers.

Michigan Works applies for millions of dollars each year to help businesses enhance their workforce through the program, and it says partners like the Michigan Manufacturing Technology Center, Lake Michigan College, and Southwestern Michigan College will serve as partners.

Among the businesses to be awarded Going PRO grants in this round are Edgewater Automation, the Bronson Health Foundation, InterCare Community Health Network, Midwest Die Corporation, Niles Precision Company, Pero Family Farms, and Refresco Beverages.

Michigan Works Director of Business Solutions Mark O’Reilly says when Southwest Michigan employers build their talent through training, they help strengthen the entire region’s economy.

Last year, Michigan Works secured a total of $4.6 million in Going PRO Talent Fund grants, helping 68 employers train workers.
