A two-vehicle crash on M-40 Highway near 64th Avenue in Antwerp Township in Van Buren County resulted in the death of a 64-year-old Lawton woman Thursday afternoon.
According to Sheriff Daniel E. Abbott, deputies were dispatched to the scene at approximately 3:30 pm following reports of a traffic crash. Upon arrival, emergency responders found one of the vehicle occupants unresponsive.
Despite extrication efforts and attempts at life-saving measures, the female driver succumbed to her injuries at the scene. Her identity has not yet been released.
A juvenile passenger from the same vehicle was transported to Bronson Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the second vehicle also sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to Bronson Hospital for treatment.
The Van Buren County Sheriff’s Office is continuing its investigation into the incident. Authorities are asking anyone with information regarding the crash to contact their office.
