One hurt in Paw Paw shooting

A Paw Paw man is facing charges after a shooting on Tuesday in Van Buren County.

Michigan State Police say troopers were called to the 31,000 block of Red Arrow Highway in Antwerp Township around 8:50 p.m. on a report of a shooting. They say a 33-year-old Paw Paw man was shot and treated at the scene for minor injuries.

A 49-year-old Paw Paw man was arrested on charges of assault with intent to murder and being felon in possession of a firearm. He was taken to the Van Buren County Jail.

State police say the shooting stemmed from a dispute. There were no other injuries, and troopers say the public isn’t in danger.

The incident remains under investigation.
