It’s the first time in its history that one professional golf tour is coming to Michigan.

The LIV Golf League is coming to Michigan, and it’ll be one of many stops for its team championship.

League CEO Scott O’Neill spoke in detail about it before the Detroit Economic Club on Monday. He says the tournament will also make stops in Spain, Great Britain, and Chicago to see more than 50 professional golfers play to win.

This is a family friendly, fun atmosphere, fun environment with music, a little partying and bring your families,” O’Neill said. “It is not your grandfather’s golf.”

The championship will make its Michigan stop on August 21 though August 24 at St. John’s Resort in Plymouth.
