Karen Lee Robinson, 83, passed away on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, in Niles, Michigan.
Karen was born on November 2, 1941 in Niles, Michigan, to the late Ronald Robinson and Clara (Parat) Robinson.
Along with her parents, Karen was preceded in death by her sister, Donna Robinson; brother-in-law, Ken Deka, and lifelong friend, Fritz Kraus.
Left to cherish the memory of Karen is her sister, Kathy Deka; niece, Samantha (Scott) Thalman; nephew, Jason (Amy) Deka; great nephew, Samson Thalman; great niece, Scarlet Thalman; son, John Hillsburg; grandchildren, Jacob Hillsburg and Luke Hillsburg; lifelong friend, Fritz Kraus, and Fritz’s family, Monica McCarty, J.T. McCarty, Brennan McCarty, and Cullen McCarty.
A master in the kitchen, Karen’s cooking brought comfort and joy to all who were fortunate enough to experience it. Her love for gardening flourished in her vibrant flowers and lush vegetables that mirrored the beauty of her spirit. Adventurous at heart, she found solace and excitement in camping, embracing the tranquility of nature.
Her cherished moments were often spent with her special friend, Fritz Kraus, where together, they shared life’s simple pleasures and profound conversations. Karen’s dedication to volunteering at the American Cancer Society demonstrated her compassion, as she provided support and hope to those battling cancer.
Beyond her interests, Karen’s essence was truly defined by her role as a loving family person. She was the embodiment of kindness, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of everyone she encountered. Her legacy of warmth and love will resonate with all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Visitation for Karen will be on Thursday, June 12, 2025, from 10:00am to 11:00am with a Funeral Service to be held at 11:00am at Brown Funeral Home, 521 East Main St. Niles, MI.
Memorial contributions in honor of Karen may be made out to Caring Circle Hospice.
