The Berrien Community Foundation is now accepting applications for Carolyn’s Kids, a grant program that awards two $50,000 grants to projects or programming for youth.
The BCF says the program was started by Carolyn Hanson, who wanted to ensure the needs of young people are met in the Benton Harbor, St. Joseph, and Stevensville communities each year. Hanson says children are the future, and she wants to do what she can to help them.
Carolyn’s Kids looks for programs that improve the lives of children by meeting basic needs, enhancing education, addressing emotional well-being, contributing to their safety, or preparing them for the future. The grant opportunity is available to non-profits, schools, churches doing community work, and government organizations. They can apply for a Carolyn’s Kids grant at the Berrien Community Foundation’s website.
BCF President Lisa Cripps Downey says it’s “inspiring to see how these grants help build a stronger safety net for kids and open up opportunities that might not have been possible otherwise.”
The grant application deadline is July 1.
