Laura Ann Gibson, 58, of Coloma, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, June 1, 2025 in St. Joseph.
Cremation has taken place. The family will receive friends from 12:00 to 1:00 P.M. Monday, June 9th, at Duffield and Pastrick Family Funeral Home in Coloma. Immediately following the visitation period, the family invites everyone to continue the celebration of Laura’s life at Comfort Suites, 1825 Meadowbrook Road, in Benton Harbor. Laura was born March 10, 1967 in Jackson, Michigan to Harry and Kathleen (Farley) Smith, Sr. She was employed as an accountant by Rachana Hospitality for over 18 years, retiring April 8, 2025. In her free time Laura enjoyed boating, sewing, crocheting, going on adventures with her grandkids, antiquing with her husband, and working on many other do it yourself projects. All in all, family was truly the most important thing to her.
Laura is survived by her husband David, whom she married August 1, 2007; two daughters; Kelly Ketelhut of St. Joseph, Samantha (Adam Nesmith) Smith of Coloma; two sons; Joseph (Lisa) Smith of San Diego, Aaron Gibson of St. Joseph; and two brothers; Harry (Shawn) Smith, Jr. of Stevensville, and John (Myrna Guritz) Smith of Oshtemo. Also surviving are six grandchildren; Zarek, Acheron, and Valerius Smith, Kian and August Smith, and Wyatt Ketelhut.
Laura was preceded in death by both of her parents.
