Theodor Joachim
Theodor “Ted” Joachim, 90, of Bridgman passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 25, 2025 at his home surrounded by his family.
A funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Thursday, June 5, 2025 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 9650 Church St., Bridgman, MI 49106. Friends may meet with the family on Thursday from 10-11 AM at the church, prior to the service. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, Bridgman. Memorial contributions may be given to Immanuel Lutheran Church or Hospice at Home, 4025 Heath Park Lane, St. Joseph, MI 49085. Online condolences accepted at www.PikeFH.com.
Ted was born on June 22, 1934 in Wolyhnya, Poland, the son of the late Ferdinand and Ida Joachim. On April 11, 1959 he married the former Lydia Wappler. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Bridgman. Ted was a tool and die maker by trade, working for Pemco Die Casting and then D & F Mold, retiring in 1999.
Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Lydia; daughter, Rena (Don) Scharnowske, Jr.; daughter-in-law, Debra Joachim; four grandchildren: Taylor and Bailey Joachim, Rachel and Monica Scharnowske; sister, Olga (Karl) Strohshein; sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, many nieces and nephews.
Ted was also preceded in death by a son, Ralf Joachim; two brothers: Adolf and Heinrich; and three sisters: Lydia, Relscha, and Herta.
Arrangements are entrusted to Pike Funeral and Cremation Services, 9191 Red Arrow Hwy., Bridgman.
