Reginald Earl James, Sr. 63, of Benton Harbor, passed away, Saturday, May 17, 2025 at Corewell Health Lakeland Hospital, St. Joseph.

A Celebration of Life Homegoing  Service will be held 11:00 A.M. Monday, June 2, 2025 at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph, with Pastor Maurice McAfee officiating.  Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the service, also at the funeral home.  Burial will follow at North Shore Memory Gardens in Coloma.  Those wishing to sign Reggie’s Memory Book online may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com.

Reggie was born January 12, 1962 in Ponchatoula, Louisiana to Robert Hill & Ora Hutchinson.  After moving to Benton Harbor, he graduated from Benton Harbor High School, Class of 1980.  Reggie held several jobs over the years, his favorite being his employment at Tobian Metals in Benton Harbor.  He also enjoyed his employment driving truck, doing lawn work & landscaping as well as at several area convenience stores.  Reggie was a member of Living Word Outreach in Benton Harbor, and in his free time he enjoyed traveling, fishing, and lawn care & landscaping.

Reggie is survived by his children-Carl (Michele) Banks of Milwaukee, Kyra Strange of Benton Harbor, Reginald James, Jr. of Watervliet, Kabrina James & Jonathan James, both of Benton Harbor, Aaleyah James of Milwaukee & Tyashai James of Grand Rapids; several step-children that he deeply loved and care for; thirteen grandchildren-Cansas, Moeisha, Dametrius, Davarius, Kyren, Kymani, Kyriq, Karielle, Aniya (Angel in Heaven), Ariana, Gianni, MyLeyah & Ky’Ori, four great-grandchildren; and his sister Emma Hill of Louisiana.  He was preceded in death by his parents-Robert Hill & Ora Hutchinson, his grandmother Corrine Hutchinson, his granddaughter Aniya Peterson on July 25, 2021, and siblings-Robert Hill & Annie Mae Hill.

The family would like to thank Sam Tobian, Money Singh, Rocky Singh & Joe Langston for being good & loyal friends to Reggie.
