Martin, Lee (Charlotte) Martin, Nelson (Diane) Martin, the late Dennis (Debbie) Martin, Lois (Keith) Miller, Carolyn Saxon and Vera Rudolf. He is now reunited with his infant grandson, Kenneth James Butts, who passed August 2, 2002.

A graduate with an Associate’s Degree, James’s professional life was characterized by his dedication and hard work. He spent many years at a local lumber yard as a receiving supervisor, where he was known for his strong work ethic and ability to connect with his colleagues. His commitment to community was evident through his service to Niles Church of Christ. James often led the congregation in song and also drove the joy bus for children going to church.

In his youth, James was an accomplished athlete, contributing to his high school baseball team’s state championship with an integral catch that clinched the title. This early achievement foreshadowed the determination and spirit he carried throughout his life.

James’s passion for trains reflected his appreciation for the journeys of life, and he could often be found engrossed in a book or cheering for his beloved Cleveland Indians. His ability to connect with people was unparalleled; he never knew a stranger and could easily turn a chance meeting into a lasting friendship.
