Staffing firm: don’t use AI to fill out your resume

If you or someone you know is looking for a job, be careful using artificial intelligence.

A survey by staffing firm Robert Half finds that many are having trouble finding a job that aligns with their skills. 22% are challenged with the interview process and 16% are challenged with having application materials that stand out. So why not use AI?

Robert Half’s Shannon Edlinger advises against using it to make your resume.

AI-generated software completely create different resumes for each job description,” Edlinger said. “Now my clients or employers across the Metro Detroit area are receiving identical copies of resumes. Huge red flag that this specific resume was mass-produced for multiple applicants.”

Edlinger says you can use AI as a tool, maybe, to prepare for an interview or to help find job that matches your skills. But don’t rely on it to write your resume or fill out your application.
