
Ernest Herbert Rose (Herb), 82 passed away peacefully at home with family by his side on May 13th, 2025. Born on May 18th, 1942, to Ernest and Annie Mae (Lowery) in Birmingham, Alabama.
Herb grew up in Alabama in his younger years before moving with his family to Lawton Michigan. He graduated from Lawton High School in 1960.
After high school, Herb joined the Marine Corps and was in active duty until 1970. Herb served in the Vietnam war and was very proud to be a marine.
Herb married Veronica Krumrei in 1966 in Lawrence Michigan. They were happily married for 58 years and had two daughters, Anna and Vicki.
After an honorable discharge from the service, Herb spent many years driving a semi for Motyka Trucking and TLC before retiring in 2012.
Herb enjoyed watching Nascar, baseball and softball, and riding motorcycles. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and spending the winter months at their home in Florida.
Herb was preceded in death by his parents. Ernest and Annie Mae, Sister Wilma Abbott, and brothers Raymond Rose and Malcolm Rose. He is survived by his wife Veronica, two daughters Anna Rose (Rich), Vicki Rose, grandchildren Stephanie Shinabery (Dakota Parsell), Erik Shinabery (Jessica Conkin), Jennifer Oswalt and great granddaughter Maddilynn Shinabery as well as many nieces, nephews and relatives.
A visitation will be held at Adams Funeral Home in Paw Paw, MI on May 21st, 2025, from 5pm to 8pm.
In Lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs or to Gentiva Hospice.
