An arrest has been made in a murder that occurred in Lincoln Township last month.
The Lincoln Township Police Department says it was called to Ray’s Motel on Red Arrow Highway the afternoon of April 14 when a man reported finding his friend deceased.
The body of the victim, a 62-year-old man who lived at the motel, was taken to Western Michigan University, where it was determined he’d died as a result of blunt force trauma.
After several interviews and the execution of search warrants, Lincoln Township police say they were able to identify a suspect. That person, a 34-year-old Coloma Township man, was arrested in Coloma Township following an unrelated incident and a standoff. He’s now facing multiple charges, including open murder.
The Lincoln Township Police Department says the murder remains under investigation.
