
Marilyn Jean Benzie, 88, of Paw Paw, passed away peacefully Thursday, May 8, 2025, at her home. She was born March 26, 1937, in Port Huron, Michigan, the daughter of Clarence C. Smith and Ella Pearl (McLean) Smith.
Marilyn loved going out to eat and socializing, while enjoying her cups of coffee. Trips to the casino were her highlight. In earlier years, she enjoyed fishing on the lake and taking trips. When it came to the kitchen, Marilyn was known for her baking, especially cakes.
She is survived by her children, Anthony T. (Debbie) Benzie, Vickie S. Benzie, Frances A. (Barry) Buell and Stanley Benzie, six grandchildren, Cynthia (Brad) Stevens, Ashley Benzie, Jennifer (Kyle) Klooster, Amber (Ross) Ramlal, Jeanette (Bailey) Benzie and Abigayle Benzie; six great-grandchildren, Nathan, Ella, Brooklyn, Timothy, Cohen and Brayden, along with many nieces and nephews.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband Anthony L. Benzie in 2019, along with her siblings, Bill, Betty, Marion, Helen, Dick, Jerry, Joe and Ed.
Family and friends are invited to visit Friday, May 16, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Adams Funeral Home, 502 West Michigan Ave., Paw Paw. Mass of Christian burial will follow on Saturday, at 11:00 a.m. at Saint Mary Catholic Church, Paw Paw. Burial will conclude at Saint Mary Cemetery.
