Even though economic conditions are uncertain, many still plan to take a vacation this summer.
AAA of Michigan’s Adrienne Woodland says 60% of Michiganders plan to take a trip this summer, up from 52% last year.
“About 37% plan to go to beach destinations, 33% go to planning national state parks, another 33% say lake destinations, 30% say a city or a major metropolitan destination, and 20% say a theme park,” Woodland said.
Woodland says 35% plan to take more vacations this summer, while 23% will take less. Many have cited personal financial concerns and the economy as reasons for staying home.
