This is Teacher Appreciation Week, a chance to honor the teacher who meant so much to you or your child.
Michigan Education Association President Chandra Madafferi, says she thinks virtual school during the pandemic made people more aware of the incredible work teachers do each day.
“I do think that a lot of parents thought about it differently because the idea of engaging a child throughout the day and making them want to learn and wonder and do that next thing is more difficult than people think, which kind of circles back to it takes a lot of skill to be an amazing teacher,” Madafferi said.
Madafferi says a handwritten note of appreciation is a great way to honor a favorite teacher.
