Young coders take note. Congressman Tim Walberg has announced a new contest that could put your skills to the test and win you some glory.
Walberg says the 2025 Congressional App Challenge has now been launched. The challenge invites middle and high school students, individually or in teams, to create a software application on a platform of their choice so it can be considered for the spotlight. Walberg says with coding skills in high demand, he’s glad to help the next generation of those professionals get a jump on some exposure.
Just code an app, doing whatever you think would be useful, and submit it to the challenge.
The deadline to enter the competition is October 30, and then a panel of judges will evaluate the submissions and select a winner. The competition is open to all students who meet the eligibility requirements, regardless of coding experience.
The winner from Michigan’s 5th District will be displayed in the U.S. Capitol and on the Congressional App Challenge website along with other winners from across the country.
