With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Sandy Scott, our loving and devoted mother and friend to all whose lives she touched, on April 29, 2025. Born on November 24, 1943, in Niles, Michigan, Sandy lived a full, vibrant life, filled with love and laughter. She was a beacon of strength, tenacity, and resilience to all who knew her and her spirit will continue to inspire and guide us forever.
Sandy was a dedicated 911 dispatcher in the field of law enforcement, a profession she approached with great commitment and compassion. Her calm demeanor and reassuring voice provided comfort to many amidst chaos and distress. After her well-earned retirement, Sandy filled her time with her favourite hobbies. She was an avid bingo player and rock collector, always on the lookout for unique specimens to add to her collection. But what mattered most to her was the precious time she spent with her beloved cats, Princess and Aspen. Sandy also cherished her summer vacations on Drummond Island, where she found great joy and peace.
Sandy was a beloved mother, grandmother and friend, always ready with a word of comfort, an open heart, and a loving smile. She is survived by her son, Tim (Nicole) Scott, her eight grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren, who will forever cherish her loving memory. Sandy was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Evelyn Ruetz, her husband, James Scott, her son, Thomas Scott, and her five brothers.
Sandy’s life was a testament to the power of love, resilience, and joy. Her legacy will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing her. We invite you to share your memories of Sandy, and upload photos to the memorial page as a tribute to this remarkable woman who touched so many lives.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Hoven Funeral Home, Buchanan.
