Joan Marie Ogrin, of Cassopolis, died peacefully, Wednesday, March 19, 2025, in the comfort of her family’s presence.
Her life began January 15, 1937 in Cassopolis, the oldest of two born to Vern and Maxine Stull.
She married Dave Ogrin in Cassopolis on December 3, 1955. .
Joan enjoyed spending time with her children Rick, Diana and Randy along with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, especially around the holidays. She loved garage sales with her daughter and her friends Pat and Lori, as well as antiquing with her nieces. Joan could be found during the summer going on golf cart rides around the neighborhood, stopping and visiting with family and friends. Joan and Dave spent time together riding their motorcycles around the country, with many memories riding through Tennessee and across the Mackinac Bridge. She was a devoted member of Decatur Bible Church for 52 years as well as, teaching Sunday School.
Joan will be greatly missed by family and friends. She is survived by her husband, Dave Ogrin; three children, Rick (Sandy) Ogrin of Marcellus, Diana Ogrin of Cassopolis, Randy (Janene) Ogrin of Decatur; seven grandchildren, Krystal (Dusty) Roggelein, Troy (Lyndsey) Ogrin, Amber (Josh) Atkins, Autumn (Nick) Robertson, Austin (Hannah) Ogrin, Colby Ogrin, Lauren Ogrin; nine great grandchildren, Derek, Emma, Karentyn, Keatyn, Knytlyn, Olivia, Lincoln, Dawson, Mack; a host of nieces and nephews and her puppy Teddy Bear.
She was preceded in death by her parents, son Dale Ogrin, and sister Joyce Edmunds.
Family and friends will gather Tuesday, March 25, 2025 at 11 a.m. for a time of reminiscing with her service to follow at 12 p.m. noon in Decatur Bible Church, 80797 M-51, Decatur, Michigan 49045.
Joan will be laid to rest in Crane Cemetery in a private committal.
