Iris Kashane Pitts, 49, passed away on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, in Mishawaka, Indiana.
Iris was born on January 31, 1976 in Chicago, Illinois to the late Timothy Pitts Sr. and Regina (Roland) Stacy.
Along with her parents, Iris was preceded in death by her beloved son, Elijah Pitts.
Left to cherish the memory of Iris are her children, Ivontae Pitts, Genesis Jones, Amirr Bazzi, Ali Bazzi, and Isaiah Pitts; grandson, Bakari Pitts; siblings, Felicia Roland, Timothy Pitts Jr, Edward Roland, and Ahija House, along with a host of close friends.
Known for her spirit and tenacity, Iris was a woman of many talents; her passion for cooking filled countless homes with delectable aromas and hearts with immeasurable joy.
For decades, Iris dedicated herself to the healthcare field, touching lives through her selfless care and infinite kindness. Her commitment to aiding others was a testament to her character – a true nurturer by nature. Iris mastered the art of independence with grace and strength, juggling her demanding career with the responsibilities of a single mother. She did not just raise her children; she nurtured them with profound love and imparted wisdom that solidified the foundation of their lives.
Iris, the family’s glue, ensured celebrations were vibrant and every gathering unforgettable. She was the heartbeat of the party, radiating joy that drew people near. Her hardworking ethic was only matched by the depth of her affection for her children, whom she adored above all else.
Her relationship with her sister Felicia stood as a paragon of sisterly devotion, while her wide circle of friends and extended family found in her an unwavering source of support and care. Iris will be remembered for her meticulous organization, her tidy and elegant surroundings, and her sage guidance.
Her departure is deeply felt by all who knew her, yet Iris’s vivacious spirit and the wisdom she imparted remain as guiding stars. She spent her life creating a tapestry of love and dedication that will wrap her loved ones in comfort for years to come.
Visitation for Iris will be on Tuesday, March 4, 2025 from 12:00pm to 1:00pm with a Funeral Service to be held at 1:00pm at Brown Funeral Home, 521 East Main St. Niles, MI 49120.
